At DAIS, sustainability is embedded in our culture, curriculum, and community action, guided by the belief that “every day is Earth Day.” Our waste segregation programme has increased recycling participation from 30% to 79%, supported by clearly labelled bins across campus, while the student-led 3R Paper Project collects 80–165 kg of paper each month for recycling, with proceeds supporting underprivileged children through NGO partnerships. Restrictions on paper cup usage, kitchen waste composting that produces approximately 225 kg of organic manure every 45 days for the school garden, phased LED installations, responsible air-conditioning practices, and campaigns such as Save Water and No Pollution Diwali reinforce sustainable habits. Student innovation further drives this commitment through the Reimagine Plastic project and the Sustainable Innovation Challenge, where learners develop solutions for waste reduction, water conservation, and environmental monitoring. Nature and environmental clubs complement these efforts through recycled art, “best from waste” initiatives, and experiential learning that deepens students’ understanding of biodiversity and sustainability.

DAIS's commitment to environmental leadership has earned the Indian Green Building Certification for its previous campus. The school has hosted the International Baccalaureate's Festival of Hope, showcasing STEM-based environmental initiatives, while students have received prestigious honours including the Diana Award for e-waste recycling and international STEM recognition for renewable energy and IoT-based innovations. Partnerships with organisations such as ReCharkha, ACORN Foundation, Afroz Shah (UN Environment Programme – Champions of the Earth), and the IB Organisation, together with initiatives like the annual CAS Fete, reinforce DAIS's commitment to measurable environmental impact, community collaboration, and responsible global citizenship.

DAIS has been named the Winner in the Sustainable Schools Award category at the Cambridge School Recognition Awards - South Asia 2025 honouring our commitment to environmental stewardship, sustainable practices, and conscious learning.
